yes this would solve your problem. Besides an update is long overdue in
this case. What is happening is that lilo is failing to load the second
stage loader for the kernel. Of course you can also make a boot disk (
rescue disk) and then after booting run lilo to restore the system but in
this case redhat 5.1 is *really* too old and needs to be upgraded.
