I don't think NAT'ing is evil, per se - just where and 
how you use NAT is what would make it seem (less) evil.

As an ISP, with the power to have as many IP's as your 
network requires, unnecessarily NAT'ing your customers 
may be questionable.

However, if you can assign your customers routable IP's, 
it's at their discretion whether and how they perform 
NAT for their (corporate) network.
