You can take a look at www.freebsd.org/handbook, there should be loads of
info there. There's also the archives of the mailing list at
www.freebsd.org/search

If you'd like to join a list I'd suggest joining freebsd-questions, by
mailing majordomo at freebsd.org with the words 'subscribe freebsd-questions'
in the body of the message.

It's quite a busy list, I normally only subscribe when I have problems.
Following the list regularly will be an endless source of information
though.
