You might want to carefully consider doing this. I just don't mail people
who do this anymore. Getting the response is just too irritating. You can
look at something called vacation ('man vacation')

There are valid uses for this (like when you are actually on vacation) but
be sure to set it up so that it doesn't respond to any bulk mail i.e.
mailing lists.
