RE: "The allocation of the Internet address space..."

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

One Jim Fleming has been making a nuisance of himself on an IETF mailing
list by spewing out vast volumes of stuff that is unrelated to the purpose &
charter of that list. He gets rapped on the knuckles, and told to go away.

He decides that the AfNOG list is a good place for him to continue this
behaviour. Just so that we know what we're letting ourselves in for, he even
forwards a copy of the email telling him, ever so politely, how naughty he
has been. He then proceeds to send a number of half-digested and wholly
unexplained emails about some spurious "IPv8" and "IPv16", thereby
demonstrating a total lack of understanding of the term "version number",
quotes so-called "RFCs" which are actually his postings to another list and
so on. Along the way, we have conspiracy theories and confusion between the
concepts of addressing & routing on the one hand and namespaces & TLDs on
the other.

None of this has any relevance to the AFRICAN NETWORK OPERATORS GROUP. Jim
himself appears to come from Naperville, Illinois, USA.

As Brian Candler put it: -

"If you're going to make your own set of IP address allocations, and your
own
series of RFCs, I don't see why you wouldn't want to form your own IETF with
its own mailing list anyway?"

"Of course, you might find that nobody joins - in which case you should
give some thought as to why that is."

Now, GO AWAY, JIM, we are not interested.
