Re: How do I install RedHat 7.2 on Dell PowerEdge 1500 That has RAID Support

Hi David - Most server hardware come with utility disks/cds that you use to
setup things like RAID _before_ installing the operating system of your
choice. Often the software will prompt you to install your OS once the
hardware is configured (at least that's what Compaq and IBM do).

When you install Linux it should just see your 3 SCSI disks as a single
volume and RAID should be taken care of by your RAID controller built in
to to the PowerEdge 1500.

That's my first guess without looking at the server. I tried looking to
see what Dell calls their Server Setup software, but Dell's web site
insisted on a tag number to let me look at documents.

Good luck!
