Re: Cisco 3600 Boot Problem

Fisayo,

To be more explicit about the comments Randy made earlier:
Assuming that you have access to a windows 95/98 PC, can
connect the router to the COM port of the PC, and have
hyperterm installed (or just install hyperterm from the
standard windows distribution), you have all the tools you need
to recover.

The ROM monitor allows you to upload a Cisco image using
the xmodem protocol. Hyperterm speaks hyperterm too, so with
rommon and hyperterm you should be able to upload an image
and run it.

Once the router runs IOS, just copy tftp flash and you should be
good to go.

Uploading IOS this way may take some time (a few hours), but you
don't need to sit and wait for it.

Randy provided pointers with the exact procedures. I've learnt
that it's a good idea to read and re-read his email messages
as he is sometimes a bit dense (but always right on the money).

Let us know how it went!
