Just for additional clarity, while distribute lists work 
well in IOS, they're old and were the norm before prefix 
lists debuted in IOS 12.0.

If your IOS can support prefix lists, they would be the 
preferred method to filter BGP prefix updates, as they're 
faster and have an easier syntax (CIDR notation vs. wild 
card masks).
