Install Openfire server on Linux , it's clients work on linux and windows as well.

if not satisfied,  just try VISTAL ( http://vistal.sartek-software.com

or IntraMessenger  ( http://www.theuds.com/intramessenger.php?lang=FR

1. i am looking for a chat software which i can use into myLAN without Internet.
2. i have installed Nagios XI on virtual machine, but it is not possible to manage the setup. what to do?
