Internet Leaders. This induction rewards his greater achievements for the
development of the Internet in Africa. And because He loves what he does, he

Joins Elite Group of Internet Pioneers, Innovators, and Global Connectors
Accra, Ghana - 26, June 2013 - Nii Quaynor, today joins the ranks of notable
individuals who have been inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame for their
significant contributions to the advancement of the global Internet. The
Internet Hall of Fame inducted Nii Quaynor for his pioneering Internet
development and expansion throughout Africa.
Nii Quaynor has been named a Pioneer, a category which recognizes and
celebrates individuals who were instrumental in the early design and
development of the Internet.
Prof. Quaynor has served on several Boards, including ICANN and had been a
member of the UN ICT Task Force and also the IGF Advisory Group at UN. He is
currently the Board Chairman for National Information Technology Agency,
(NITA) member of GhiPPS and National Identification Agency (NIA) Boards,
Patron - Internet Society Ghana Chapter, and was the recipient of the
Internet Society's prestigious Jonathan B. Postel Service Award for
pioneering work to Advance Internet in Africa in December 2007.
With individuals hailed as "the net's most influential engineers,
evangelists and troublemakers" by Wired, the Internet Hall of Fame includes
a who's who of trailblazers and world-renowned thinkers that have helped to
form what has become one of society's most vital vehicles for communication,
advancement, and commerce: the Internet.
"This year's Internet Hall of Fame inductees include extraordinary
individuals that have helped make the Internet what it is today: the most
successful global platform for communication, social, and economic
development ever seen," said Internet Society President and CEO Lynn St.
Amour. "We applaud these inductees for their passion and commitment to the
