[afnog] Database error

I am running Centos and installed Zabbix in a VM . Currently when I try to
access the frontend of zabbix I get the following:

Database error
Error connecting to database:
can't connect to local Mysqlserver through socket
'/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

I have no idea what to do about this error message (as I am a centos), and
would appreciate some help.
