Dear Colleagues,
Registration is still open for the AFRINIC Webinar Series titled, "Introduction to the AFRINIC Governance Model” which will take place on 25th May 2023 and will start at 09:00 UTC on the Zoom Platform. The webinar will feature Mr. Kishna Dhondee, Legal Officer at AFRINIC, he will be discussing governance structure, decision-making mechanisms, stakeholder involvement, accountability, and transparency of AFRINIC. By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to engage with AFRINIC and contribute towards shaping the future of Internet Governance in Africa.
The AFRINIC Governance Model is based on a multi-stakeholder approach, where various stakeholders play a role in decision-making processes and policy development. The goal of the webinar is to give a thorough overview of AFRINIC’s Governance Model and provide participants a comprehensive overview of AFRINIC's unique approach to governance.
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
Understand and explain the uniqueness of the AFRINIC's governance model and the role of fostering Internet development in Africa.
Explain the multi-stakeholder approach and community-driven in AFRINIC's decision-making processes and policy development.
Discuss AFRINIC's accountability and transparency practices.
During the webinar, participants will have the chance to engage with the panelist during the Q & A session. The language of instruction in the webinar will be English.
