Dear African Technical Community,

We are delighted to invite you to apply for support through the Sustainable Technical Communities Funding Program. This initiative aims to enhance and maintain local Internet infrastructure and technical expertise. The funding is provided by Regional Network Operator Groups (NOGs), such as APNOG and LACNOG (i.e. Implementation Partners for APAC and LAC regions), by the Internet Society (for Africa region). The funding will enable communities to organize impactful technical events that contribute to the growth and development of the Internet ecosystem.

The funding program aims to foster knowledge exchange on Internet technologies, strengthen technical communities’ input on policy, support initiatives to build skills and capacity, and encourage collaboration among stakeholders. The funding may be used to cover event-related expenses, including Venue rental, catering, outreach, and other costs to ensure diverse community participation. Eligible applicants include technical communities that play a vital role in developing and maintaining the Internet, such as NOGs, NRENs, ccTLD operators, CSIRTs, and similar technical organizations.

We encourage all eligible organizations and communities to submit an application and help strengthen the technical foundations of the Internet within their regions. Kindly note that this is funding is limited.
