landed this morning at 6am.  i didn’t have my yellow fever certificate 
(it’s never been necessary before for ZA <-> KE travel).  apparently, 
it’s now needed, so i got pulled aside.
after a lot of the inspectors talking, and paying $40 for a new 
injection, i was issued a “new” certificate.
no injection (which i’d agreed to).  and yet magically, a “batch 
number” for the injection was presented.  go figure.
i would have insisted on the injection (nullifying the “shake-down”) 
but i was tired and hungry, etc.

tl;dr - bring your yellow fever cards;  or $40 and lots of patience.
