Good question!  The sort of data which is collected and share is the data which an IXP would publish on their website for marketing and to help operators debug problems or plan their networks in any case.  The advantage of the IX-F database is that the data is in a single place and in a common format so that it can be plugged in to operators’ scripts and systems.
