Dear African Network Operators Group,

It is sad to hear that Mr Barrett passed away.  I would like to 
extend my condolences to his family.

Mr Barrett had a keen interest in activities related to the Internet 
in the region.  He served as a Chair of the regional policy 
development process for the region.  He was the Chief Executive 
Officer of the Regional Internet Registry (RIR).  He went on to serve 
on ICANN Board.
